The Study Program of Master and Doctoral in Biotechnology at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada organized the “Biotech Student Camp” on Tuesday (July 9), aimed at supporting students in completing their final projects. This hybrid event was attended by over 40 students. “We extend our gratitude to the students who attended both online and offline at this annual event of the Biotechnology Program. Essentially, this event is about monitoring and mutual support,” said Dr. Dini Wahyu Kartika Sari, S.Pi., M.Si., Head of the Study Program of Master in Biotechnology.
Since its inception last year, the Biotech Student Camp has positively impacted students, leading to a significant increase in the number of students completing their graduation requirements compared to the previous year. Dr. Dini expressed hope that the event would further motivate students to finish their final projects. The event’s agenda included comprehensive presentations where each student detailed their research progress and received constructive feedback from peers and faculty members. This interactive approach not only provided valuable insights for improving their work but also fostered a sense of community and mutual support among the students.
During the event, master’s and doctoral students were separated into different groups, with master’s students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts presenting their thesis or dissertation progress and participating in feedback and discussions. By sharing their experiences and challenges, participants were able to gain new perspectives and solutions for their research hurdles. This collaborative atmosphere aimed to push students towards completing their final projects.
The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada aims to gather data on students’ progress in completing their final projects through this event and design necessary follow-up actions. The event also seeks to inspire students to complete their projects, reinforcing the program’s commitment to supporting student success.
