Yogyakarta, January 22, 2025 – The Study Program of Doctor in Biotechnology Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted a comprehensive workshop on genomic and transcriptomic analysis using Linux (Command Line Interface). This event, conducted on January 22, 2025, was specially designed for active students in the Doctoral Program in Biotechnology at UGM.
The workshop featured a distinguished speaker, Mr. Muhammad Miftahussurur, Chief Technology Officer at PT Widya Teknologi Hayati. Mr. Miftahussurur delivered an insightful presentation on Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and its associated workflows and tools. The presentation expertly combined theoretical foundations of WGS with hands-on practical sessions, guiding attendees through the necessary computational pipelines for analyzing genomic and transcriptomic data.
The session aimed to equip participants with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for advanced genomic research, focusing on using Linux command line tools to handle complex data analysis processes. Attendees were introduced to various genomic sequencing techniques, data preprocessing steps, and the powerful computational methods used in modern biotechnology research.
The workshop was a valuable opportunity for UGM’s Biotechnology doctoral students to enhance their skills in bioinformatics and computational biology, preparing them for future challenges in the field of genomic and transcriptomic research.
